In the Summer of 2011 I was invited by the Chinati Foundation to document the historic reinstallation of Robert Irwin's Scrim Veil—Black Rectangle—Natural light, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (1977). Not only is the original work of historic significance, but this marked the first time the Whitney had ever reinstalled any exhibition. With Chinati's help, the Whitney granted me access as the sole outsider to document this process. Over the course of the install, I took some photos and followed up with some text.
